Jennifer Anderson5 StarGreat service and highly recommended. First I used tropic-air for my maintenance needs. Then had some issues with my AC on Sunday night. They were here with the part first thing Monday morning to fix everything. Will definitely recommend this amazing company to anyone looking for HVAC needs.Monday 6th May 2024
Rob Robertson5 StarTropic came to my house on short notice late in the evening technician was extremely knowledgeable and very courteous. He was able to solve the issue within an hour when others were unable to. The price was very reasonable for all that they did. I would highly recommend Tropic Air and will be using them in the future.Friday 15th March 2024
Bongo Joe5 StarAnother great job by Tropic Air Conditioning:
Thanks to Joe Harris, Rob the A/C tech and Racheal the office manager at Tropic Air Conditioning in Sarasota for the quick and affordable replacement of my air conditioner’s condensation pump. During the hot Fourth of July weekend, the old condensation pump that came with the house when we bought it in 2019 started making noises and later started dripping water.
I called Tropic Air Conditioning late in the morning on Wednesday, July 5, and Rob (the big guy in bib overalls) squeezed me into his busy schedule and stopped by around 5:30 p.m. to diagnose the problem. He cleaned the old pump that was plugged with sludge and showed me how to do the same in hopes that the old pump wouldn’t need replacement. Two days later the pump was still not functioning property so Rob squeezed me into his schedule again and installed a new condensation pump at a price that was much lower than I expected. If you need a new air conditioner or need your current air conditioner maintained or repaired I highly recommend calling Tropic Air Conditioning.

My previous review from two years ago:
When our old 1990s air conditioner recently started freezing up and dripping water, I called Joe Harris at Tropic Air Conditioning on a Monday night and he had his technician, Rob, stop by the first thing Tuesday morning to diagnose the problem. Rob and Joe then provided an honest assessment of the situation. They said our old, outdated unit could be repaired and they would make it work if we couldn't afford a new one, but they also advised that our money would be much better spent on a new unit if we could afford it. Joe then told me about the one-year, no-interest financing program and he gave me a price estimate that was affordable and within our family's working class budget. The following morning Rob, Mike and George showed up with a new unit, and working as a team they made quick work of the installation. In addition to the excellent service, I enjoyed the engaging conversations I had with Rob, Mike and George as they worked. Our dog Mabel liked them too. This was my first experience buying a new air conditioner and I'm glad I called Tropic Air Conditioning to do the job. Joe H, BradentonFriday 7th July 2023
Chris Bruenning5 StarThank you very much for taking such good care of our very old AC unit for the past 10 years. We also can't thank you enough for your fast and efficient service installing our brand new AC unit. I would recommend Tropic Air to anyone.Wednesday 14th June 2023
Robert Meinhold1 StarThis company has no honesty or integrity. Tropic Air came to my Condo building to change out my neighbor’s A/C compressor but started to change MINE out instead! They were confused because the CONDO UNIT BREAKER SHUT OFF NUMBER above the compressor outside did not correspond with the CONDO UNIT COMPRESSOR NUMBER below outside. They didn’t bother checking before they started working. They did not make sure the shutoff breaker outside corresponded with the correct compressor below. After removing most of the freon from my compressor (approx. 5 pounds) they then proceeded to disconnect the electrical outside. Since the breaker above the Unit did not correspond to the compressor below, they thought the power was off (it wasn’t), so when they pulled the wires out from the compressor, they arced and popped the breakers outside and inside the condo. The IDIOTS finally realized they WERE WORKING ON THE WRONG A/C UNIT. Quickly they braised (soldered) the freon line back and figured no one could tell they had made a mistake.
When my HVAC guy came over to repair my Unit (Suttner Heating and Cooling) he could tell that the freon line was freshly braised (shiny silver) and Tropic Air left the Unit with no freon.
Suttner Heating and Cooling added 5 pounds of freon to the system. The Unit takes about 5.6 pounds. Suttner did an extensive leak test and no leaks were found. We were sure Tropic Air removed the freon and left the system empty! Again no honesty or integrity.
Do the RIGHT THING WHEN YOU MAKE A MISTAKE! Confess to the customer and fix your mistake! Stay away from this place! The repair cost me $720.00 and my Unit was not even broken. If I could give less than 1 star I would.Tuesday 7th May 2024
